That old chestnut ROPS

2nd attempt

While at a hillclimb yesterday I noticed two 7 type cars running ROPS with no rear stays and a petty bar, I managed to have a chat with one of the drivers who told me that it had been fitted THIS YEAR by a pro outfit ( £1800.00 ) and had been passed by the scruts
What do you make of that??

From msa 2017 regs:

1.4.1. Forward facing stays are permitted if an angle of 30° cannot be achieved with Backstays, providing they do not unduly impede Driver and Co-Driver access to the vehicle.

Yup I know that, but you can get the required angle on a 7 type car ( 3 other 7 type there had them) the petty bar is what really surprised me.

You Don't require a petty strut, only a 45mm bar with stays the same diameter.unless over 2.0cc
