New reg Mk2 escort kit.

Motorsports and GBS seem to have teamed up to take the Chinese mk2 escort Shells and make them IVA friendly and are going to be selling them either as fully registered cars or a kit.

This will not be locost though, specs/pictures are on here https://www.motorsport-tools.com/blog/ and on the motorsport tools Facebook page - copied below -

“Some exciting news today! 😀 We have partnered up with GBS (Great British Sports Cars) to develop the new Mk2 Escort’s as new registered road cars.
These will be brand new cars on current registration plates and we will be working closely with GBS on the development to meet the IVA test requirements.
The all new Mk2 Escort’s will be based on a group-4 spec bodyshell, powered by a brand new Ford supplied 2.5L Duratec on ATR billet throttle bodies & Life ECU. Mazda 6-speed gearbox, Atlas axle, AP Racing brakes, Bilstein coilovers etc.
They will be supplied as complete road going cars or in kit form, and can easily be converted to a rally car if required,
More news on the red prototype Mk2 over the next few months”

Only guesses on price of the fully built car, I am guessing £50k plus.

I saw some one guess at 40k. Id love a low, but not at those prices. Hopefully the build quality is up to scratch.

the bare shell in primer is £7500 but then you'd have to build that up and IVA it yourself, these Chinese clones are pretty poor though in terms of panel fit etc, ok for racing and rallying but you wouldn't build a show winning road car from one. If they did a MK1 then I'd definitely have one.

If you want a mk1 then there is always an RSR version (plus a lottery win required), the one with the bike engine v8 is worth selling your granny/kidney/eldest child for.

A while back Whitspeed were modifying mk1 (and other cars) to go over a space frame chassis as well.

Would make a very nice B-road blaster.

Engine & gearbox sounds expensive too, my estimate would be around 7 to 8000 pounds.
