Servicing diesel injectors
Is it possible to service PD injectors, or is it a specialist company job only.
Brad.

You mean this type ?

I did them myself, but I could borrow a pop tester.Perhaps you also need shims to calibrate the opening pressure.

Thats a good site to have in your favorites, but how different are those injectors compared to the newer electronic type.

I think the new electronic ones don't get serviced at all (or it must be a pro job). Most of them get thrown away so you have to buy a new
expensive one. I'm happy to have the old mechanical type in my car. I installed new nozzles in the injectors for around 30£ each.

I got four mech injectors tested and serviced for £80 and one CRD injector serviced for £75. All done at Auto Diesel Ltd Tel: 01723 373932
Mount View Business Park, Scarborough, North Yorkshire YO12 4EH
It was £5 each to test them but you didn't pay for the test if you had then recon'ed.

Could be worth checking ebay - I picked up a new set of injectors for my 306 for about £75 last summer, which was less than I could get them serviced
for locally.

problem on my sprinter was that he thought they might break on removal if they were as badly clogged as he suspected, which would be megabucks
apparently. So i gave it a major overdose of injector cleaner (full bottle into the dregs of a tank), and its still going strong two years later.
Think ive added once since at the recommeded dose too.
Chap said they were £200 each if they snapped, plus labour cleaning the head out.
