ebay advice needed please?
Long story short the Imp is up for sale, and i've never sold anything in ebay.
Got an idea what Id let it go for and seeing what some dogs have sold for ebay is the way forward!
How much does it cost to sell something 1 to 2k?does it still cost if you take it off before the auction finishes??any people had nightmares I should
know about before I take the plunge?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ebay Motors fees are here http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/motorfees.html
Basically, about £8 to list it as an auction or with Buy It Now, plus 1% of the final selling value (minimum £20, maximum £35) - so £28-£43.
You put up a classified ad for £15 all in.

If you sell it in a "classified" add just one payement up front but it will be fixed price in the advert.
Its much like a add in the paper, most likely someone will come to view and try to negotiate a price on site rather than click "buy"
If you go auction then the final price is the final price, you can risk starting at 99p with little or no listing fee's and it goes for what it
makes and you pay final value fee, or you can start it at a price around your bottom price but listing fee's will be high paid up front whether
you sell or not, low start and reserve is also expensive up front.
You can end an auction at no cost to yourself other than initial listing fee's as late as 24 hours befroe auction end, think its 24, may be 12
hours ?
I would go classified.

I don't think you can do that 99p listing trick in the cars section. But the selling costs aren't too bad.
I've sold a couple of cars on e-bay. In my case they were both nearing the end of their lives and I just wanted shot of them. I was pleased
with what I got for them. (£400 for a 160k mile P reg 306XSi, and £600 for a 240k mile R reg A4 Tdi).
Make sure you list all the details that you have and more as the more you write the more people will be able to judge your honesty. Also
"advertise" your listing on relevant sites.
Make it clear that the tax is being sold separately and not included (this is a big deal when the car is of low value).
Put in loads of pictures, get the auction to finish at a time when people will have had a beer or two and let the auction run to the end (its more
exciting).

with the summer here have you got any classic car meets locally or shows, may be worth taking along with a for sale sign, as it sounds an original one
and would attract an enthusiast, even if you don’t take it to a show may be worth just contacting a club and ask if they know anyone who might be
interested.

Yeah I know that takin it to shows would be good but it isn't tax exempt and it would mean insuring it and buying a disk, money I ain't
got,still paying the striker off!
