Vivaro prob
Just had a call from my daughter who's husbands 2.5 diesel vivaro's throwing a wobbler, engine was racing then running on after switch
off, anyone any idea's.

check the oil. if it is low then it might be oil getting into the engine via the turbo oil seals and it is running on by using its own oil.

its sucking oil from the sump and is libel to run away and self destruct....
has it got a turbo? could be sucking oil from a sump vent causing the running on.....

Theyve called the AA who recovered the van AA guy said dont start the van whatever they do so it sounds like its terminal. I'll go down later
and take a butchers.

mine did that briefly, a new turbo sorted it. As said above, it runs on its own oil til it runs out and pops. So dont start it unless confident you
can stall it!
Second hand engines are well expensive, cos they are so shite they are in high demand!

If it is the turbo and you buy one from Renault or Vauxhall, they wont warrant it unless you replace the oil feed + return pipes, intercooler and the
two air pipes from the turbo to the engine.
If you use a non gen one remember to cean the intercooler and air pipes out fully.
