Tin Top 2008 VW gti whistle problem
I've had this car since new with no issues. Today, I came to a stop sign and started hearing a very loud whistle. Sounds exactly like my
kettle when the tea is ready. My first thought was a loose hose on the intake side, but the noise goes away when the engine is under load. At first
I thought it would go away above a certain rpm, but I can put it into 6th while going 30 turning 1,000 rpm and the whistle goes away.
Any ideas as to what this could be or have any of you all wise and knowing locosters had this issue before?

My Diesel (VW tdi) does this. The software moves the vanes of the turbo so it's almost giving tiny amount of boost at idle. It's got a
vnt turbo on it and has always done this, however as the car has got older the noise is more pronounced. It constntly whistles away when idling, it
goes away if you blip the throttle, then if you let it settle again, it'll start whistling in a few seconds. Maybe it's doing it for
emissions control, I dunno.
Yours could be doing this?

Maybe you could pop the bonnet and have a better listen to where the noise is coming from?
