bike clutch problem?
see the video i have done to show my problem ,i hope someone can help me work out the problem.

Were the clutch plates the same thickness and the same number of?
sounds like its dragging, but i wouldnt grind any more off of the bike!!!

Also, are you sure you have;
Put the plates in the right way round?
put the plain plates in between each plate?
I had the same problem, and somehow had put two plain plates together, which meant two friction plates together. It dragged and slipped like a
bastard.
ETA: the Basket could also be worn...

Did you soak the plates in oil overnight before you fitted them and did you buy a genuine cable ? Usually you can set the cable with the adjustment at
the clutch end then use the handlebar adjustment after that.

I would also check the condition of the clutch pawl shaft, fitted in the cover, if the end that is in connection with the centre pawl is worn it will
turn a long way before anything happens. This will be further exagerated by the heavy duty springs. I think it is difficult to get neutral, not
because its slipping but because it is not fully diengaged and therefore under load.

Did you get the release lever engaged in the right place. It looks on there like the lever is pulled too far around. Shouldn't the starting
point be further back so the pull starts before 90' and ends after. That'd give the most throw on the lever. If it's pull starts
after 90' (between lever and cable) the angle turned will be reduced.

i will try the clutch pawl shaft as i havent looked at that
yes its under load so wont go into gear thanks for the advice .

Is the clutch on the opposite side to the crancase lever ie could it have problem with the clutch push rod, ie too short??
Just had a check and cant see a push rod but maybe worth having a look at the clutch section
here to see if anything is missing.

thanks its a cmx450c i have the full manual for the bike and had a 80s honda machanic have a quick look today so im going to remove the case and have
a look i just replaced the gasket it cost me £45 from the usa inc tax and shiping.

SORTED AT LAST IT WAS THE PAW THANKS ANDY
THE GUY MUST HAVE LOST THE ORIGINAL ONE AND MADE ONE TO FIT AND IT WAS 6MM TOO SMALL SO DIDNT PUSH THE CLUTCH BACK TO MAKE IT WORK 100% ,A HARD ONE TO
FIND BUT GOT THERE IN THE END.
