Inlet valve potentiometer

What is an Inlet valve potentiometer on an Audi Diesel engine?

A mate has an audi diesel and Audi reckon that he needs 2 of them @ £360 each plus £200 for fitting to get his management light offf but the car runs fine.....

I had a fault on my Mercedes diesel - 'inlet channel' potentiometer.

Apparently there was a valve in the inlet manifold that used to modulate to maximise the torque at any particular revs.

Could be same set up I took it to a Bosch centre who replaced it for £100

Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016
