What's the price of a medical operation over there ? (it's free over here)

I was under the impression (could be wrong) that US gallons were 8/5 a UK gallon

i worked it out to the litre so its the same for uk and america, the US gallon is only 3.78 litres to the gallon, and diesel is about $3 a US gallon, so devide $3 by 3.78 to give the $ per litre, the devide the result by 1.5 to get the £ rate, i have seen unleaded as low as $2.38 a US gallon, but normal seems to be around $2.55, my working out is within a penny or 2 either way but gives an idea how the uk gets ripped off

I think they have tax in the US too, IIRC.
