No one son comes home tonight and says he followed the gritter on the road and it WAS gritting?????? Just looked at the bbc weather site and we are supposed to be getting a light snow shower tonight.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

I would wish that it snowed tonight.

4" would be enough for not being able to go to work.

I meant, they would have had to close the campus not that i cannot drive at snow.

ah i see your problem, you live in scotland!

Down here on the south coast we have only just started getting below 10 deg in early morning.

Good luck with the inevitable winter carnage!

Down here in the usually sunny south, I was scraping ice of the car this morning, (strictly speaking pouring lukewarm water on the windows)

Yeah - the 'few patches on the roads' are often caused by those 'I'm not buying any de-icer' tightwads thawing their windscreen with lukewarm water.

0.8 in the greenhouse here last night and white over this morning. We had hail yesterday and they were 1/4" deep on the roof.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

We in the midlands had ice on cars today.
- Thin layer over the screens, and balled up lumps about 10mm in diameter all over the bodywork. Simular on the road.

It started to snow at 2am here. Then turned to rain but by 5am there was 1" (approx 25mm for those in colour) of snow on the ground. Had to clear the windows and then de-ice before setting off from work. But there again, I was in the middle of the moors! YO18 7NT if you're bored enough to Google earth it!

Lovely sunrise as I drove to work this morning over the tops through Co.Durham.

My car didn't have any ice on the windows, apparently my missus had thick ice on her car (that was parked next to mine), as the grumpy txt I got made very clear.
