Update on my DAS...
Some of you know through my recent post I have been taking my direct access and had my mod 2 test booked for last tuesday. Well due some problem at
the test centre I had my test cancelled and rebooked for tomorrow (Monday). Hopefully I will pass as I can then get on with riding this bad boy....

Good luck tomorrow and well done on becoming a biker. BUT as above this generally isn't the best time of year to be out on the bike, the roads
are slippery and the light is terrible.
My next door neighbour was killed 2 weeks ago, only been passed his test for 6 weeks, absolutely tragic
Regards
Davie

good luck for tomorrow Shaun! Where are you taking it? Did mine in Dudley. Wasn't too bad.
^^ what they said. My bike is safely stored away for the winter.

If you ride through the winter you'll be a better rider come the summer. Just take your time and fit decent rubber.
You'll learn to read road conditions/hazards better with all the wet manhole covers/leafs/sludge

I agree with the comment about riding through the winter makes you better but starting to ride in the winter isn't necessarily the best thing
imo. I think it would be better to ride in the dry so you can get used to the bike without worrying about all the problems that winter brings to
biking, especially if you are a new biker. just my thoughts.
and before anyone pipes up, no i'm not a fair weather rider. did all my DAS training in the rain and recently road 500miles in Europe through
pouring rain and sidewinds. I just prefer dry weather when on the bike - more enjoyable.

Ride Safely, this time of year slippy roads and low sun in the sky can make for some interesting riding. You probably have a few more horses than your
DAS bike and it WILL handle differently so caution is definately the name of the game. Learn the bike then learn to ride it.
Dropped mine at about 45mph on a right hander last week resulting in a couple of cracked ribs
I was the first one to find a diesel spill at 7:30 in the morning, following day a Fiesta went straight on at the corner and the preceding corner was
covered in "Slippery Surface" sign by the council guess I was just to early.

the other thing would be to take up motorcross, really helps with bike control when if the bike starts slipping about

You've made a few assumptions there snakebelly when you know pretty much nothing about me!
Please let me know how you came to the following assumptions....
1. What bearing does playing golf have on my ability to ride a bike?
2. Without know my age, how much experience I have, and how long I have been riding for how can you say that I am a "born again biker"?
3. That I am on the organ donor register?
The only part of your answer that really contributes anything to this thread is "seriously you are prime for an accident take it easy....very
easy"
That part I agree with, which is why I plan to do exactly that.
Thanks
Shaun

I'd have to disagree there Franky... a sports bike on grippy tyres doesn't 'slip' anything like a motocross machine on
knobblies! Applying mud-technique to tarmac-riding is a recipe for disaster!
