Engine Anti-freeze

Hi all can you mix the blue antifreeze with the pink type anti-freeze i have a bottle of the blue type and
I would like to top it up in my Vectra C dti sri

If i were you i would not mix pink with blue, as they both have different qualities. What they are, i don't know but they shouldn't be mixed.

One is two year protection and the other is 5 year iirc. You can mix them but i dont think you are advised to. It also turns a dark brown, almost black colour.





How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

And can get lumpy bits that clog the cooling system. They are not compatable. Just buy some pink stuff....

You have to be careful as some of the (HOAT?) longlife ones when mixed with normal stuff can become corrosive.

Troublle is confusing names ----
HOAT is claimed to be OK to mix, plain OAT is not.
Both Vauxhall & Halfords claim the stuff they sell is safe to mix.
I take the line it is safest not to mix for t he last few yearsI have used Havoline Longlife coolant bought from Morrision but they recently seem to have stopped selling it.

Think its best for me to go too Vauxhalls and get the right anti-freeze
