This is more to do with the 400M Euro debt that the circuit now has due to the 'developers' who got the license to run both tracks and then decided to create Nurburgring Disney world. Which no one wants and is a ghost town with a rollercoaster that will never work and so on.

The track itself will survive as all of it is actually State owned but there will be some rough patches coming up as they attempt to repay the enormous debt. There is talk of fraud & criminal charges as well.
