14 tooth front sprocket ZZR1400
Hi all
Trying to get hold of a 14 tooth front sprocket for a ZZR1400, 2009, I want to drop the gearing a little (I currently have a 15t sprocket which is 2
less than standard) & really haven't got room for a much bigger rear sprocket without making substantial alterations around the diff.
I've done the usual searches, but can't find anyone offering 14 teeth, does anyone know of a specialist sprocket manufacturer who would do
a bespoke job? I may want several if they can be done at reasonable money.

not sure what the centre mounting arrangement is but hbc gear stock all manner of sprockets including various 14t

Problem with a 14 tooth sprocket is horrendous chain wear , don't know why but you
Will get very rapid wear with a 14...
Its cuz I is blond , innit

Hi Russ
I use a 12T front sprockets on my Fireblade engined race car as my standard sprocket size. I also had an 11T and a 10T sprocket made, though these
are a little bit out gearing wise. I can HIGHLY recommend JB Gears in Wetherby. 01937 845030. He does a lot of specials for the autograss lads and
also makes a lot of gears for the bike race community as well. In my experience, his prices have been very reasonable.

Many thanx for the info - I already deal with John at JB gears; for some reason didn't realise he did front sprockets as well as rears Doh!!!
Just rang him & he has a 14 tooth off the shelf, it's a grasstrack part!
Not too worried about chain wear, it's probably going to trash chains fairly quickly anyway!

14 toothers should not lead to excessive chain wear. Only when matched to rear sprockets with tooth numbers that are multiples of 14...

As above - don't use two even numbered sprockets.
Use an odd & even or two odds to ensure even wear on the chain.
