Rant
Just having a rant about not being able to get the clutch cable of the XR4x4. I really need to as the clutch has let go, will it come of, will it
hell. Think I need a big crow bar and some vice grips. Rant over.

yeah ford had a crap plastic tooth ratchet thing at the pivot of the clutch pedal you have to lift the claw of the ratchet to let it slip to the
plain section then the cable will be slack

Pulling the cable inner should release the ratchet but if it doesn't then get someone to pull the pedal up at the same time as you pull the
inner and that should do it.

Unless its the really rare late model that had an adjuster nut and bolt on the pedal.

Think the rachet and pawl has siezed. Done hundreds of Fords over the years and never had this problem, just my look. 6ft tall, 18 stone in a confined
space under the dash to change it.....I don't think so. Think I'll get my son to change it.
