Bluetooth car kit for music & calls

Guys,
Can Anyone reccommend a bluetooth car kit that will stream music from my iPhone 3G and obviously do voice calls too.

I cobbled together a parrot mki9200 kit from various eBay bits but I can't get any life into it so some part of it is duff so I'm looking for alternatives.

Any personal recommendations welcomed.

Thanks
Colin

Not sure of the model number, but my local auto electrician showed me a newish parrott unit which does just that and connects to an iPod as well. It has a decent sized colour screen to which he had album artwork showing. Didn't ask the cost, but can't be that cheap!

This was the unit....looks to be around £250 unfitted.

Go for a Motorola T505. Its one of those extremely rare pieces of kit that actually exceeds your expectations. Not too expensive either

That parrot is a bit out if budget nick.

The t505 looks like it's just a phone kit, it won't stream music through the stereo.

T505 does music fantastically. You can even scroll through tracks using buttons on the side. It streams via FM, but a 100% better than those crappy old iTrip things (you never hear your phone searching for a satellite either)

Why not just change the head unit to one that will do what you want ?

I fitted a Sony bt series unit that works with my 3GS perfectly for music streaming and calls via Bluetooth.

The motorola is a stand alone unit right? Or does not play through the car stereo speakers?

Will have a look at head units, I hadn't considered them before, I think just because I was trying to keep the factory fit look and the cd changer functionality.

it's going into a 2003 passat estate.

Motorola... bluetooth to and from your iPhone and FM to your car stereo (it does also work 'standalone' through it's crappy little speaker). As I mentioned, the FM aspect is head and shoulders better than the iTrip type of thing, not sure why its so good (or why iTrips are so bad)

I would recommend that Parrot you have tried. I've had a couple of Parrot devices as they have advanced and that one does just what you want quite well. They are more like £150 than £250, if that helps, and depending on the current car/radio fit you may need another lead which could be about £20.
