Something for Iplayer?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b011dcb2/Richard_Hammonds_Engineering_Connections_Series_3_Formula_1/
Obviously filmed BH (before haircut)
WTF is everything on the TV now prefixed by the person who presents it. If it's a program about F1 related engineering I'm going to watch
it. Are the TV companies really suggesting that "Richard Hammond's watching paint drying" would suddenly be a "must
see" just because it's got a bloke from Top Gear in it?
We've now got Julia Bradbury's Canal Walks. It's a walk along a canal. Who cares if it's got her in it. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! And
deep breath...
Although for some people on TV it would be a good thing. They could have a warning at the beginning of programs. Warning- contains scenes of Pears
Morgan.

Not a bad program..
Cant help think it would have been better done by James May with a bit more "depth" for the more educated viewer.

Yup, the lack of "engineering" in said programs is woefully sad. But then I wish the beeb F1 footage covered the technical / engineering
aspects of the cars more. Who cares if Alonso's DRS activated when it shouldn't, the interesting thing is how to hinge and activate the
deployable flap- electropneuomatics? electrosolenoids etc etc.

the truth is, most people don't built their own cars! thats why they don't go really far in depth to it, because while we'd love it,
kids who would be interested, for example, or adults who don't know whats inside an engine, would be properly confused by it and switch it off.
50 or so of us would love it though.
they're going for the majority who haven't a clue but want to start learning, and good on them, its good to get more people interested in
engineering.
i watched it, i enjoyed it, but i didn't learn anything from it at all. well except what forging is. i knew about hammering swords and stuff,
but didn't know how wheels or pistons could be forged.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!
