Hypothetically....

....should I sell toy car.

Here's why;

1) It doesn't get a lot of use,
2) I want to build the house extension and the cash would be useful,
3) After the extension is done, I'll have plenty of space for the next project,

I thoroughly enjoyed the build and fancy doing same again, though following all the debate about it; the next one would be based entirely on a BMW 1 series diesel (though I'd go for lightness where poss, which I didn't with the V8), unless I stick to the diesel motorobike

Look forward to the comments, but should point out I thoroughly enjoy driving toy car when I can.

I sold mine Simon for the use reasons. Sadly didn't get great money for KC but it's money to pay off a few debts. I bought a cheaper project car that I can use with my wife and daughter - it's still a laugh to drive but I get to use it far more often.

With the current rainy weather I'm not missing KC of course when the weather changes I may change my opinion! As you say though....I could always go back to KC's at a later point.

It all depends on how much you will achieve for a sale I suppose.

As a proper locost the value will be limited, so its a balance on how much its worth to you v its resale value.

I would put both your and my cars in the £2,500 - £3,000 bucket, so more than the component parts but short of a replacement cost.

It then comes down to use:

If not really used then its a nice to have in the garage, a financial asset !

For myself I cannot really see me selling my car as I enjoy tracking it, I did not enjoy it on the road so if limited to this use only I would sell and make something that would derive more enjoyment from.

You'll lose loads when you sell, as you never get more than a fraction of the build cost back. and then spend again to re-build - so it's cheaper 'overall' to keep what you've got!
