After six or seven weeks of looking for a new house with a garage in Auckland, I finally moved in on Friday just in time to collect my stuff from the
shipping company. I had to wait until Monday for them to deliver the car, but I managed to collect everything else on Friday. Annoyingly, the car was
left on the drive with the keys under the wheel and no one signed for it! I didn't even know it had been delivered until I phoned up from work
asking when to expect it.
The engine started first time without any problems, although the coolant is way down. I had some worries about the head gasket before it left but
it's not smoking any more. I'll have to check it out when I sort the coolant plumbing properly.
There was nothing unexpected in terms of cost, other than getting stung for more GST (VAT) than I had planned. That was all to do with length of
ownership and when I first moved to New Zealand.
Now I need to get working on it so that I can put it through an LVVT to get it on the road.

you need to take it on a drive round lake taupo and up the mountains through tongariro national park(its one of the most beautiful places i have ever
been in my life). you also need to take it up to the coromandel the 25A up to hahei beach is just an epic 30km of hairpin after hairpin

When I first looked at the photo I thought you had parked it IN the house
That's a big garage in UK terms
Envy
The garage is great. Except that out of the four power sockets, the only one that works has scorch marks on it. The garage in the UK was stuffed full
of junk and had just enough room to store the car. If I wanted to work on it, I had to push it out onto the drive. I'm just renting for now and
might have to move out in a few months, but it's better than storing it all in the factory.

I run a printing business. I didn't need to worry about visas because I was born in Auckland.
I was just in Taupo a few weeks ago with the Fraser Club. Link
here. One of the photos got used in a national news paper. ...Readership of 6 and a dozen sheep.
Even in an automatic Astra the roads from Auckland to New Plymouth then New Plymouth to Taupo were fantastic, and good fun. I took the wrong route
back to Auckland from Taupo and it was just boring straights.

Is that spare bodywork wrapped up in the background?
I decided if I'm going through all the trouble of shipping the Fury over, I may as well bring another chassis and some body work. I might not
start building it for two or three years but if I didn't bring it now I probably wouldn't get another chance.
