Fog lights and MOT

My daughter has just pranged her car. No one was hurt, and the car is repairable at low cost thank goodness. I have bought a front bumper/grille/bonnet in the right colour from a scrappies. the new bumper has front fogs fitted, but her car doesn't have the wiring or a switch to use them. Will this be a problem in the mot? Is it one of those 'if the're fitted they have to work' jobs? If so, can I remove them and just have a hole in the front, or do I need to blank the holes?

Thanks for any help
Hugh

No requirement for front fogs and onlly testable if smashed creating a sharp edge caused by damage

A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

Nope - common automotive myth. If its a non tested item, it doesnt matter.

I've not had a car to mot since the recent changes, but for many many years your reversing lights didn't have to work if they were fitted, and in fact my e30 bmw, they never did work and passed several mots.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Yep, Reverse lights are just another item not tested. Spare tyre is another commonly assumed to count but isnt tested.

Speedo is now a testable item , but only that it's fitted, glass I believe has to be intact, but it doesn't need to work but illumination has to. Go figure
