Racing at Oulton Park

I watched the Oulton Park racing on the weekend and truthfully it was the first time I've ever been to a proper race track. The GT Championship and F3 were great to watch. Anyway, managed to take some photos of the event.

Nice photos. That Ginetta was a mess after the fire was it not! All the different sounds of the GTs, were amazing. The Mercs grumbling away, right through to those BMWs... shrill or what!

I was there with my son, who races his Honda Civic in the Northern Sports & Saloons. He had a cracking race on Saturday, but sadly only managed a lap and a half on Monday.

This car:

The sounds were fantastic. As you said the Z4's in particular, had quote the exhaust note. I did enjoy all the racing and took loads of photos. We had originally booked camping, but due to the cold nights wimped out and got a hotel! The camera is a 5D MKII and lens wise was a 50mm f1.4 and a 70-200 f4. Walking past some media photographers, they must have had 10 grands worth of gear around their neck!

We'd planned to camp there too, but some small problems with the car on Saturday meant we had to drag it home to fix. Saved from a night of freezation me thinks! (I think we were probably going to go home anyway, as it was so cold)

Would be interested in any photos from the NSSCC races if you have any.

Here are some of my efforts:

I should have a few from Friday and Saturday, but it was a learning curve for motorsport photography for me. I know I have some of Bill Addison in the Caterham Superlight, Some of the Honda Prelude and the Pug 106 rallye, but I'll see if I have your Civic

It looks like you're a quick learner!

Any NSSCC pics from Saturday would be appreciated. As I said my lad Pete had a cracking race, and his bloody on board video cam failed. On Monday the camera worked, but he only got a lap and a bit before what appears to be a CV joint failure.

Rather annoyingly I don't have a single photo of the Civic. It would seem I don't have many from NSSCC. I've got a couple of snaps (mostly because of the Caterham) but no Civic Sorry!
