Headlight servo actuation
Seeings as people on here know everything....
Standard VW/Audi type headlight level servo as adjusted using the little wheel on the dashboard to change height of light beam.
Servos have 3 wires... one presumes +ve -ve and signal.
Any clever folk know what the signal is likely to be?
If it works like a three cable RC servo then it would be a pulse width type signal..
Or.... it could be a resistive/varying voltage signal..
I ask because I am planning to retro-fit some modern VW lights onto an old car and it would be nice to make use of the level servo...
Thoughts?

This thread suggests it's nothing like the 1-2ms PWM scheme used for RC servos,
but sadly gives no other information.
Could open up the motor and see if you can get any details on the controller IC?

i would be interested in what signal they use, these would make great little servo motors for 'projects'.
Could you not use the originial VW switch?

They are so similar to RC servos in terms of size I would suggest you would be better using those instead.. (plus RC servos are a shed load
cheaper!)
I very much doubt I could just use the switch off the dashboard... I suspect it feeds into the ECU and then gets controlled from there...
Will have to pull one apart and have a fiddle... (or replace its guts with an RC servo..)
