Aisan carb swap options?
I've a 30yr old Mitsubishi L300 on the drive (don't ask why!!). It seems to run a bit lumpy and rich with its old and over complicated
(vacuum secondary etc) Aisan carb. I'm a bit loathed to pull it apart to check float, jets etc as rebuild kits for these are like rocking horse
poo, and it is working in a fashion. A quick google showed up some guy swapping one for a Weber 32/36 on his old Toyota. Sounded like a win/win to me
but when I measured (roughly, in-situ) the bolt pattern on this particular one is smaller than a 32/36. The Weber is 47 x 93mm whereas the Aisan is
more like 40 x 80mm. An adapter could probably be made but just wondered if anyone could suggest a slightly smaller carb that may be closer to a
straight bolt on?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

There were some webers fitted to the ford sierra twin cams and XR2 / 3s which had a smaller bolt pattern than a standard 28/36 etc weber.
You should be able to find one for next to nothing, maybe someone on here has one you could at least get measured up.

That's interesting, can anyone confirm this / measure one?
