Which zinc plate passivate is best
I've just ordered a zinc plating kit. It comes with clear, blue and yellow passivate. I'll be plating steel tubes that slide one inside
another, so that the total length can be adjusted. It will be used outside. I want the parts not to rust and not to wear as they slide. Which
passivate is best for this?

I don't know about home plating but we used to do a lot of work for BT which had to be plated for corrosion protection and the specification was
normally "Full Colour Passivation" which is the iridescent yellow colour.

As quick review of the kit. I's a bit rough and ready in places but that's what I expected from the cheapest kit I could find. It does
the job and is easy to use. Great for the one off job I wanted to do but now I've got one, I may find other things to plate. Nice locost
solution.
