Jeep Patriot Review - Crap

Bloody Jeep Patriot, 57 reg, 38,000 miles, both struts replaced, drop links, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, both lower control arms. Sunroof leaks and pours in via the internal light like a tap. Internal trim has fallen off in places. Underneath has rust on it like you wouldn't believe. Handles like a bus, sounds like a bus.

The Jeep Meridien main dealer in Portsmouth or Bournemouth either don't answer the phone or return calls. Three messages left with reception multiple emails still no replies. Parts are stupid prices in the UK, £300 for a control arm, yet I can order a genuine part from the states for £100.

I hate it I hate it I hate it.

Rant over...

But apart from that, all good?!

I've got a cherokee which hasn't been too bad, but it's shocking above 60mph.

Every time I go round a corner the drivers seat clicks back on its ratchet.

The local fiat/jeep dealer has some kind of kardashian-mobile jeep type thing outside for £25k, its been there for months and looks like its only been washed once! I pity the person who buys it as there car park is full on jeeps brought in on recovery trucks.

I have one of these lovely vehicles....
Most of the suspension components don't wear well, some of the cheap replacement bits are ok, but some are made to last the day of the mot.
Mine isn't rusty though and is was definately cheap for what it is, but it did give me a scare though when the side airbags decided to go off on the way to work for reasons unknown, i havent reached a conclusion with the dvsa and jeep as to whether this should be a recall issue!
Don't think replacing it with an outlander, it is mechanically identical and the parts from mitsubishi are even more expensive.

Swap them for X Trails
10 years and 120 k of reliable motoring
Main dealer servicing in our town is a ripoff but I there are plenty of honest mechanics.

I was looking at the Outlander. I was hoping that although the engines are the same, the rest was different such as suspension components.

So it would appear the sway bar bushes are now loose.

Also the rear exhaust heat shield fell off on the way home, will replace this with mat and glue. It's like a clowns car.

Mate at work had one, we got more for it as scrap by cutting it up and weighing it in than he could sell it for...

Front anti roll bar bushes, 2.0 diesel, 23mm bar?

These should fit,and are better quality than a patterned part or the genuine jeep item.

Thanks, turned out to be duff BAW drop link from jeepchryslerparts. Real ball ache getting a refund from them! Fitted some Feb Blisteins and all is currently good. By good I mean crap. It's still a Jeep.

Yay another leak! The boot now leaks, looks like the eye level brake light lets in into the boot. Hoping it's not the rear window seal.

My first and last Jeep/Chrysler...
