Ok, ive managed to finally get some more photos from my camera onto my computer and then onto here

Now im a little disappointed with the progress but its taking longer than planned

Now its time to remove the old axles

These ones are 10 spline axles and wont be used as i have a nice set of 24 spline ones from my donor disco

You do needs LOADS of space,im using half of my back garden, garden is about 80' x 30' and half of the single garage. There are bits of landy everywhere

Ive got more photos to go on tonight as that progress only takes me upto the end'ish of last year.

Now with the chassis done its time to look at the axles which ive removed from my disco donor

I had the axles shot blasted and hot zinc sprayed, got to do things propperly and all that

these require a 20ton press to fit, the one that i have fitted is adjustable and greaseable so as it wears i can nip it up

I like the hot zinc spray something I thought of doing on the Indy chassis, found someone that would do it as well, wished I had (add's some weight and makes welding a PITA latter though)..

I'm still wrestling with selling my SIII 88". It hadn't run for two weeks up until last Sunday and I needed to take rubbish to the tip - it started in a heartbeat as it always seems to. Great trucks. I can only imagine that the coil-sprung models are even better.

If I didn't have a kit car project, I'd be doing a retro-style Landy.

Seems to be a bit of time lag / thread revival here, but a great resto project nevertheless.


Ive got a fully rebuild and re-chassis'd 90 Defender. Fantastic vehicle but probs going to sell it soon.
