Nope!!
Nope!!,
Council says they are out there, only gritting A roads, M25 close junc 8 monday , all the alternative roads, iced, complete gridlock.
I've used up most of my 9 lives on the roads round here in the last week.

In Orpington, Kent, they have spared no expense, a man on the back of a quad bike shoveling salt as it goes along!

What's the betting that they run out of salt/grit again this year.
Perhaps it's the wrong kind of snow

Plenty round here, say the advert for 3 months drivers wanted..
Salt pile down the road, Sunderland council have all the roads clear here but pass over into Co. Durham and its different.
You can see the round mark where the Sunderland gritters turn road just over the boundary!

All the ones round here are triple axle AWD, ready for anything, apart from in the summer when they sit in the depot gobbling up our council tax..

I've seen one this winter - and he was pootling around in the middle of the day and not scattering grit.
Previous years I've cursed the damn things at it seemed like every time I went out in the dark I ended up with gravel rattling over my bonnet -
certainly not this year!
And what about pavements? Not one pavement on my route to and from work has been cleared, and they're lethal - even this evening I saw some
poor horizontal pedestrian being attended to on the side of the road by a group of people. I'm sure that local authorities (and National Rail)
are using the myth of "liability" as an excuse to not do anything...

Had one down our cul-de-sac last night and a small truck down this morning with blokes spreading by hand. I suspect it being bin day wasn't
unconnected.
All the A/B roads up here seem to be open, only side roads and car parks are in any way difficult.

I'm on a fairly quiet road in the town, an I see them about 5 to 10 times a day !
I think they all come round to buy there lunch in the coop round the corner (scootz knows the one I mean )
even saw one today on the single track roads away up in the hills
gritting must be the only thing east lothian council are any good at
