Surely putting the cost of motoring up is going to push people off the road, which means they loose out on there tax. It also puts the price of everything else up to compensate, even the cost of living forcing larger pay rises to offset stupid ideas.

Suppose they have to do something to support all the lardarsed lazy scumbags who have no intention of ever getting a job.

The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make it moral.

Who, politicians?

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Does it really make any difference who'll be in government next year? Seriously, its a two horse race between clones.

Am I too late to run for MP? seems an easy way to make alot of moolah.

to rip that trash article up piece by piece:

"Motorists hit AGAIN as Government tax grab adds a record 15p a litre to the price of petrol"

an attention grabbing headline that in fact wrong. There is no government tax grab, merely the petrol retailers association dreaming up 15p of tax. How can they even say that headline when its total fiction? 'tax grab adds 15p' blatently says it has happened, when it hasnt.

The first few paragraphs again paint it as fact, when it isnt.

Then they water it down to 10p tax and 5p wholesale costs.

Then, they reveal that its actually the VAT from January, which we've technically had off for a year so we're only back to square one there.

One pence in april for the yearly duty rise, linked to inflation. Woopee...

One pence for a biofuel incentive? Not really interested in that either...

So thats 2%, not 15.

Then we're into the possibilities!

VAT might go to 20% - maybe it will, money does need to come from somewhere to pay off national debt!

And the possibility of a snap budget after the election for 2p - totally hypothetical.

Let me just add that up a sec.... 2p in april, not 15p now like they imply.

Tabloid scum.

Whether it happens or not, there is still the matter of the £800,000,000,000 that Gordo spent and will need repaying.

So whether it's him or the other morons, the tax still needs raiding, sorry raising.

When VAT was reduced Gordon Brown increased duty on fuel so that the change was revenue neutral.

When VAT is increased he wont be reducing the duty will he?

This is all part of labours scorched earth policy. They know they will loose and the Tories will have to sort it out, how unpopular will they be when they take the necessary action. It is history repeating it's self, it is just the same as when Thatcher took over and even now years after leaving office she is still blamed for problems by some.

You don't think the yellows won't have to raid the tax piggybank?

Though since Bliar and Brown there's only a fag paper between Tory and Labour policy on pretty much everything so the Liberals are the only party with 'real' socialist policies left if that's your bag.

IMHO....

ALL the political parties are as bad as each other in their own particular way.

NONE of them can run the country properly.

Its just a well paid job for each of them with a well paid pension at the end, and with a load of perks in between.

It wont matter WHO gets in Gov't, they will screw it up, and tread on the tax payers. Then we have to suffer and foot the bill caused by their ineptitude.

I'll put me soap box away, before I start on the rest of my views, on how we should run our country

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

We should run for it ourselves....

No-one's realised yet that the more it costs to get to work, the less money workers have to splash around.. If no-one's buying new sofas, fridges, cars etc then those industries go down the pan leading to job losses and the circle continues.. They say we're getting out of this recession so they're going to do stupid things like this to put us back?
