MX5 in the snow last week

I had some fun in the snow last week in the mx5, the snow was relatively deep considering the 3" ground clearance in the car.

The snow was above the front grill in places, the car has an ATB diff in it, and would push itself through quite a bit of snow, however once stopped it was pretty much stuck.

However, thats what snow chains where for, and i was quite amazed just how much traction you get from those, i was pushing through about 8" of snow quite happily. I got to be a real smug git and stop to give a guy in a 4wd a push

nice! was out in mine in the snow too but not quite so much snow as that! i've only got the 1.6 viscous lsd and it was doing less than nothing to help grip but contributing usefully to sliding fun.

what wheels are they? RS watanabe?

come have a look on mx5nutz.com if you fancy a bit of 5 banter. posting those pics would amuse quite a few.
