OT - VW Bora Central Locking
Hi peoples,
BIL has a Bora that has stopped locking on the key fob. It opens on the fob though no probs.
If you lock the doors with the dash button while sat inside all of the doors lock ok. The interesting bit is that it is not registering that the
drivers door is closed as the courtesy light is on all the time and the car dash beeps to warn the door is open.
How does the car know the door is closed? All help appreciated.

try the door switch. sounds like its not working properly hense why it wont lock if it thinks a door is open
Probably shorting to earth.

Microswitches in the door lock are not recognising the door is shut.
Sadly a very common feature on Golfs/Bora/Passat and others on the same platform.
My Golf did it too. The lock mech can be disassembled and fixed but it's fidly and sometimes no better.
Easy fix is new lock mech - about £80 I think mine was?
