Mondeo Speedo
Hello all,
well, i got a mondeo! would give you a long list about how exciting it is, but it is at the end of the day, a mondeo. so, its a mk2, blacktop 1.8
zetec engine, 2000 vintage, a great year for fords.
so driving home chuffed with my little purchase, all was well, then noticed the speedo isnt working, at all.
everything else on the instrument cluster works fine, took apart the dash at home, all wires secure, checked fuses related to instrument cluster, all
ok. so, where do i begin! its not a cable one so not to sure what im doing, thanks for any tips!

If you have checked the fuses then check the sensor on the gear box is spinning.
It will be 3 pins one is earth one is power the other is the speed pulse. The wiring is spliced into the ecu as it feeds the same signal to the ecu
aswell.

if you stand in front of the car looking down to gearbox its pointing up right at the back about 5" in from the engine if that makes sense near
the bulkhead

they were also prone to the speedo its self giving up.the sensor is more a focus problem than a mondeo but dont rule it out.
