don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

It appears he took his foot off the brake before the car stopped spinning... The car caught traction going backwards and then spun much quicker.
It also seems to have a rather narrow rear track, which also made it easy to tip while going backwards.
That looks pretty bad, I hope the driver came out OK.

I've seen this before. The driver had a broken collar bone and cuts & bruises but otherwise ok as I recall.

Nasty (missed it first time). Why I'd always want a roll-cage.... Anything else is asking for it.
Do you reckon the blue smoke coming out of the back of the car 2 cars in front had anything to do with the slide??!?!?!

That accident is a good advert for a roll bar and a 4 point harness.

Ouch, he was lucky to survive that! Looks like he was used to racing modern cars with low C of G. Should not have released brakes and tried to recover
untill it stopped.

seems madness that you're not allowed roll bars or harnesses in such classes.

What I found amazing, was that only one other driver stopped to try to help.

It occurred to me that the car must have drum brakes and perhaps they didn't hold while traveling backwards. So maybe just an error of too much
enthusiasm...
Looks like some drivers parked further on and ran back. Truth is if you don't know what you are doing, you can cause more trouble then help.
Commonly people try to move the car right away, they then either cause sparks and a fire or fail at lifting it and land up dropping it again on the
poor driver. Or move the driver and cause further injuries. Still it's very hard to just stand there and wait...
