Mini project

friend of mine has bought a mini as a 'little' project.

long story short its a 1983 1ltr silver mini, it was driven into a garage by the prvious old lady that owned it 5 years ago in very good condition, never touched since,

so, hoping it hasnt turned to dust, whats going to be needed to at least get it running! i can think of a fair few things but never done anything like this,

cheers for any tips.

Fresh fuel. Octane evaporates out of fuel after a few weeks/months...

Good BIG battery.

Good jump leads - as a backup.

Can of easy-start.

Check that the points haven't rusted if its on points by putting a screwdrive accross the contact pads just to get it sparking on cleaner contacts.

Air filter off and squirt some down the carbs 3 or 5 secs BEFORE cranking (making sure the choke hasn't closed off the "hole" into the carb".

In that order or there abouts.

Good luck...
