Historic vehicle taxation

I'm looking at possibly buying an American import, a 1950 Chevy truck. It was imported to the UK and registered here in 2007. Will it qualify as an historic vehicle for taxation purposes does anyone know?
Thanks
Phil

If it was correctly registered as a historic vehicle based on a proven year of manufacture, then YES... it would be tax exempt.

If it has been incorrectly registered on import you should be able to correct this provided you can prove the age of manufacture.

Check the taxation class on the V5 it should be historic.

You can also check via the DVLA website if you don't currently have the V5.

Good call. I contacted the DVLA site with the reg. number and it's registered as a 1950 vehicle.
Thanks
