Exhaust question.
Nothing to do with locosts.
I'm currrently fitting a new exhaust to SWMBO's car.
(I reckon that's a better present for today than flowers, but anyway...)
Waiting on the front and middle bits arriving, but I've got the old system off today.
By all accounts, the front subframe has to come off to get the front pipe in over it. Or that's the story according to honest john. It certainly
had to be cut in two to get it out...
In the pic below, if it's one piece, I either have to cut it and use a joining piece or I have to remove the front subframe along with
everything bolted to it (suspension, gearbox mount, yaddah yaddah). Don't fancy the latter course of action.
If it's in two pieces, I've won a watch.
I'll find out tomorrow when they arrive.
In the meantime, tell me.
Is that a join in the middle just above the two hangers ?
Please tell me it is.

Give us a clue what car it is, someone will have done one or got rid of a car rather than have it done
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

A) It certainly looks join like
B) Surly they wont manufacture an exhast in one and expect to ship it in one will they?
Just think: What would Quick Fit do!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

The pic isn't the whole exhaust, that's just the downpipe and cat - there's two more sections after that.
Car is a Seat Ibiza.
Very specifically, a 1999-2001 car with a 1.4 AKK engine.
Before that, the exhaust was much simpler, after that the car was completely replaced with a new model.
If it's in one piece, I'll cut it and use a straight exhaust joiner.
Currently on wikipedia researching who was the greek god of exhausts so that I can make some sort of offering to her.

It is a join. "honest John" sounds like hes following his stereotype.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.
