Is the Westfield Mega chassis any good?
As above, is it worth paying slightly more for a Westfield Mega chassis'd car over the less mainstream names? Is Westfields build quality and/or
handling any better or do you pay for a name?

people will mention can of worms type stuff.
I think the consensus is now as long as its a well designed kit it all comes down to how its put together and set-up.

If you are ok with live axle, I'd go to Procomp if I were you. A 3.54 ratio diff will work well on the hills with a R1 motor, although
I'm not sure about the 2006 on ratios.

How good of a design job did Westfield do? From an aesthetic point of view I feel that the Mega bodywork is one of the best looking.

Apparently Matt's account has been hijacked so I'd ignore the above comment.

Please note...the 'hijack' has not happened from LocostBuilders, it appears to have occurred from Matts' (procomps) end ......

they are much a like really nowadays.. me personally - iv seen some horror chassis from robin hood in the past that really scares me - most of the new
chassis tho seem reasonable.. the biggest thing i would read into it is
a. cost
b. if lots of people are using them they must be ok
c. rust protection
d. they are all fragile cars - look after it it will be your friend - theyr not a tin top

My view is that the best chassis costs the most, but you can make anything work if you're willing to spend the time on it addressing the
issues.
The Mega chassis is incredibly well jigged and frightfully accurate in my experience, and I have read lots of stories about others having to
essentially re-engineer a cheaper chassis to iron out its problems.
Ultimately though, both can be made to work well if you spend time addressing the flaws. You'll just find a lot less time needed on the Mega
chassis.
