Automatic Garage Door Problem
Having a problem with the range of the transponders, they are too good!!!!
We don't have line of sight withe the garage from the house and on more than one occasion have inadvertently pressed the transponder button
whilst in the house. Thus opening the garage to all without us knowing about it.
Is there a way to reduce the range so this can't happen? We have tried threading the entire length of the aerial into a 2" square, lead
sash window weight but the door still opens at 100 metres away. Was afraid to cut the aerial?
Any suggestions before I speak to the supplier tomorrow, typically can't find the destructions at the moment.

Do you think it's because the sub-space conduits have locked with the transponder calibrations and caused a major tachyon surge that has
overloaded the time matrix?

Picard usually get Data to reconfigure the main deflector dish to emit an inverse tachyon pulse.
I think I'll try that first, right where can I get an Enterprise on a bank holiday Monday!

Don't know about getting one today but Rally Design usually deliver the next day, dont they?

i had the same probelm and what i have done is wire up a light i can see from my rear window. This operates off the garage door so at least I can see
when door is open, especially usefull at night to check out garage door from indoors.
Maybe you could wire an alarm or loud buzzer the same way.

Wire a disabling switch into the house?
You can then disable the garage opener when you come in at night, and enable it on the way out in the morning.
Added benefit of additional security...

i can't really wire a disabling switch as the garage and house are on separate supplies and quite a distance apart.

I'm moving to a house with one of these posh remote control doors, i'm also planning to put a switch in to disable it, and probably some
extra lock/security but i'll have a look and see how secure it looks once we're in

Same problem, I removed the plastic buttons from the transponder so you have to really force your finger into the little hole where the button used to
be to make it activate - haven't had it open accidently since.
Also I bundled the antenna wire up into a little ball and put it inside the control unit to reduce range.

Sounds good to me.
- I have a similar issue with me car, im 100% of locking it aways, and its fine at home or anywhere else, but at my uni house i come to it and find
its open about once a month.
