Water Temp Sender - Location pic needed Audi 1.9 TDi

Hia ll,

Ordered my water temp sender but still no clearer to where it is!

really need an exploded diagram or guide. i am sure its dead simple but never worked on a modern engine at all!

you will prob find its black on your car, unless its been changed before. it is under the engine cover. does the gauge move at all?? might find its the dash thats at fault.

I have had one of these to change on my 1.9tdi passat, I have no idea where it goes and as you say. Haynes manual is useless.

it jumped up in value once or twice but from what i have read its the sender that fails 99 time out of 100

found it last night eventually!

Its drivers side, remove the engine cover, find the turbo, follow the engine round to the side and back of the engine about 1 third across.

It sits about 8 inches down on a 45 degree angle and has 4 wires going into the block and hose from a housing.
