Astra Mk4 Gearboxes help needed
Any vauxhall know it alls out there Have a 1.4 16V Mk4 1999 Astra G that needs a gearbox the number on the casing is F13. What other gearboxes will
fit ? will one from a 1.6 code F15 fit? Will a Mark 3 gearbox fit. Any advice appreciated (but Not get rid of my son who wheel spins everywhere and
knackers up the diff pain in the ****)

As far as I know the F16 is for the 1.6 normally. It has bigger driver shafts so will not fit the smaller 1.3 box. I imagine any box from a vauxhall
will fit as long as it is F13. i.e from mk2 astra, nova 1.3 and maybe any OHC nova. The ohv nova uses the F10 box. 50 quid from your local breakers
should see it right.
I stand to be corrected but thats what I THINK is the situation.

I had a mk2 astra which blew its box,swapped f13 for f13 from a later one,forget if it was mk3 or 4,fitted fine but was definitely taller in 4th and
5th,don't know why,assumed it would be identical.
