Dogcam - Contour HD - Anybody used it?

One of the lads at work is hopefully going to pick me one up on his way back. Planning on using it for car/bike/snowboarding and maybe paragliding. Not so bothered about sound as I'm more concerned about video quality and size.

Anybody used it, anybody got some video clip examples. Impressions?

Not used one personally... but the GoPro HD is much much better..... the surfboard shots on last nights topgear were done on go-pro....

I have one that I use for mountain biking/skiing etc..... very good bit of kit and as I found out... indestructable...

GoPro HD. The way forward and the aftermarket mounts that are being produced, on top of the already incredible range produced by GoPro, are awesome.

Yeah but the GoPro seems quite bulky compared to the Contour and if I want to put it up in the lines of my glider the GoPro would probably stand more chance of getting caught up in something (not a problem for the camera but a problem for me with potential deflations).

There's loads of example videos on the VHoldR website: -

http://www.vholdr.com/videolist

Which one you after, the older 720 or the new 1080? There was a problem with the newer 1080 in that there was a focus issue towards the center of the picture. Not sure if they've fixed that yet - have a look through the forums on the same site.

Must admit I've been tempted though for track days and snowboarding - less faffing about with wires etc than my current setup.
