Which diff and tyre size combo?

What do you track whores recommend.

Buying a MK Indy R Busa, used for track, and hopefully a few sprints.

I am thinking of running 13" slicks,

What will be the best diff to go for with the 13" slicks.

I'm not bothered about top speed. I just want quickest lap times.

I also have some 15" on 888's.

Many thanks for any info, I'm new to this kit car thing.

...and probably 205/60/13 on the rear, 185/60/13 front is what most would have (or the equivalent slick).

13" will be lighter and ride better than 15".

Thanks guys,

I thought the 3.14 might be too long and hinder acceleration a fair bit?

But the 13" might suit this diff.

I think as standard they come with 3.62, is this too short?

With 3.62 you'll be spinning the wheels up all the time with a Busa and hit the limiter pretty soon.

Have a look at the gear calculator sticky at the top of this thread.

I had to race at Snett with a 3.62 in my Busa engined Fury and it wasn't much fun, I was hitting the limiter at about 118mph which happens quite quickly and is far more frustrating than you think it will be!

A 3.38 gave me 128mph which would be OK for most circuits but not Snett etc.

To be honest the 3.14 works great with the Busa as it has loads of torque, I'm consistently one of the faster starters on the RGB grid and the slight overgearing is never a problem, I just accept I use 5 gears on the shorter circuits but even then I'm sometimes hitting the limiter.

Your trouble will be finding a 3.14
