Any plumbers on?? Need help quickish please.

Just changed a load of pipe work and radiators in my house. Iv just opened up the tank valve to fill the system and the water is just trickling through to fill the system, not fast like it normally does.

Whats wrong?? Im thinking air lock but iv opened all the rad bleeds etc and it doesnt change?

The only real difference iv done is iv put TRV's on the feed side of the rads.

I had an issue with this when changing some rads in my house, it turned out to be a choked cold water feed.

most likely blocked feed from the tank, pulls it all from the tank when you drain it.

Or do you mean the ball valve filling the tank is trickling??

Take the thermostat tops off the TRV's to make sure they are open

+1, they work of the ambient air temperature so could well be closed.

If you did not completely drain down is probably air locked.Try sucking and blowing down the overflow pipe. I have had this many times. sometimes it is best to re-drain completely and start again. A trick sometimes used is to fill rads from cold water mains via a rad or drain cock. Be carefull not to overflow expansion tank though, best get someone to assist wile filling. Best of luc.k

Sorted. I put a pipe on the drain cock and let it run through for a bit then connected back up. Must have been an airlock in the feed pipe somewhere.

Cheers chaps.

Jst got to swap the TRV's to the other side of the rads as the pipe labelled feed from the boiler is actually the return!! I love my house there so much s**t work in here im gradually sorting out.

Most trv s You can put on the flow or return so might be worth checking before you do it all again
