BBC iPlayer through FreeSat

Stuck a network cable from my router into the back of my FreeSat PVR and now have iPlayer on demand on my TV. How cool is that? Can now watch all the stuff I missed or forgot to record - really great sevice with perfect picture quality and all for free .... good old BBC.

Cool - what PVR is that? I'm looking at a grundig something or other from Costco - wonder if it will do that too? Having said that the PS3 already does that, but er, there's nothing like iplayer redundancy, eh?

There is another option for freeview viewers. I have a Philips TV PC (basically a small PC made up of laptop components) that has a built in tuner card. Plugged into the TV ariel and LAN it gives you full PC functionality including email internet and iPlayer etc. And you can also watch freeview with the bonus that you can pause, record, rewind and fast forward (if you previously paused) live telly! I dont think Philips make them any more but I'm planning to upgrade with a compact PC with two Freeview HD tuners (record on one while watching the other), Dolby 5.1 surround sound and a BlueRay disk drive.
