I wouldn't as a DA oscillates, so if you happen to use the end of the grinding disc it would be 'bouncing' off whatever you are
grinding. Could lead to the disc shattering in extreme cases.

If you're asking because you want to have one less tool..... the you have been listening to your missus for too long
I often wish I had two grinders, one with a grinding disc, one with a cutting disc, saves time. But my wife says 'but you already have one of
those'.

They also run at a different speed (polisher is a lot slower)..

I did that
Got an ALDI special (top notch and works a treat) and my old faithful that is getting a bit tired, but I use that one ini one of those mounts to turn
it inot a cutting tool (using 1mm discs) then I use the other one free-hand so I can cut off as needed for tubing etc. but still have one handy for
grinding or cutting awkward shapes etc.
Simples (and pretty cheap too)
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Absolutely, the cheap grinders are so cheap I have 4 or 5. (fitted with slitting/cutting disc, hard grinding disc, coarse flap disc, smooth flap disc,
cup wire brush most of the time) If one packs up it's no problem, chuck it and carry on.
If you value your labour at anything like commercial rates you only need to save the time on changing a disc say 4 times to pay for the extra tool
.

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.
