More Snake oil for your cars?
I know I should be less cynical about these things but this ebay thing is no more then a capacitor and considering the smoothing effect of a decent
battery cannot see it myself.
Still some must believe in it!

hmmm, there is some scientific fact behind this. having a capacitor, which is almost certainly what this is, near the igntion coil, (almost ceretailn
where this would be fitted to avoid the long wires from the battery) to supply extra current on demand is not a bad thing and will give more power to
the coil.
... .but I cannot see it making any noticeble difference, most modern alternators will already have suppressor (capactiro) built in.

IF that is a capacitor, then you would see any benefits on an oscilloscope. We used to put a big cap on the ignition side of the coil on the
boys' grasstrackers, and it made a big difference at high revs. There was no breakdown or missing. And you COULD see it on the 'scope.
Much smoother and lower voltage fluctuations. But, it had to be attached directly to the coil.
What it would do at everyday driving revs I don't know, the engines we ran this on rarely ran below 6k. Increased fuel mileage? You'd have
to be using a fairly poor ignition system to make that much difference, and you'd certainly notice it.

It also says that it improves diesel consumption by improving the re compression ? of the engine.
Its obviously complete BS as with the other similar items such as heavy gauge fuel pump supply cables , resistors, h202 kits etc.

As with all of these stupid resistors, magnets, windmills and electrolysis kits, if they gave the slightest bit of benefit they would all be standard
parts of the latest Ford Fiesta, and Ford would be advertising its amazing class leading performance and economy. At least until all the other
manufacturers fitted them to their models too.
No wait I forgot - Big Car is in cahoots with Big Oil to keep cars inefficient so we all buy lots more fuel, right? Sigh... Facepalm
Of course there will always be the odd application, such as what Neville describes, where a standard system is essentially faulty, either from
deterioration with age or just initial poor design, where one of these devices actually does make a difference by improving the situation, but
anything relatively modern that works will be unaffected or even made worse.
