Racechrono yet again.

Yes, I'm a fan.

At the weekend, I had the extreme good fortune to be down at Silverstone for the Britcar 24hr. We were there for my friend's Sports 2000 race on the Saturday morning.
We decided to stick the phone into the car for his race and see what infor we could grab.
Phone was mounted with a bit of light padding to filter out some of the shock and was sitting dead flat in the car with a good view of the sky. On average, we had a lock on 6 satellites.

These are small screen grabs from the windows version of Racechrono.
My best race lap was within 2/100ths of what TSL timing said it would be, so that's quite pleasing.

Anyway, I was a fan before and I'm even more so now.

Here's some screen shots.

Silv GP 3
Silv GP 3

That's it really.

A very very cool use of a pretty cool app.
More to follow.

Next time, Brands for the Formula Ford Festival.

Looks great Zil.

I downloaded it a while back, but I can't seem to get it to start. I think I must be missing something / button!

I think it's excellent as well it's just a shame they don't support more phone OSes. I sold my symbian nokia ages ago. Going to have to buy another one just for this and obddiag but they've started charging for that.

You need a Symbian Smartphone with GPS and accelerometers.
In my case, it's a Nokia 5800.

You also need this

Works on my Windows HTC HD2 a treat. Not been anywhere near a track with it, but it's quite interesting collecting stats on your regular routes.

The initial interface is a little confusing - its not obvious how to 'start' it.

Click new session and enter some details.
Click 'start' at the bottom of the screen.

Its now 'working'.
