ebay, can i walk away from an item ive bought ?
Ive bought a mig welder (not paid yet)
but the seller is very evasive, and my "only" day of collection is monday night
Not to good for me , as im on nights !!
So, if i walk away, and tell him to poke it
will i get neg feedback ?
I DO NOT WANT TO JEPODISE MY PERFECT EBAY RATING

Explain that you can't come Monday night as you work and tell the seller when you can come, if you have no joy then complain to ebay.

he hasjust messaged me, despite my 4 mails thursday, friday and 2 today

In which case I'd contact eBay and retract the sale. If the seller can't be 'arsed to reply then you shouldn't be arsed to buy
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Seller cannot leave negative feedback about a buyer anymore, if it seems dodgy walk away.

Frustrating I know!
Just had to book a day off work last week as a seller of a pickup only item I had won got funny with me and refused to let me pickup evenings or
weekends...
Got the distinct impression he didn't want to actually sell the item, but I guess I wanted it more than he didn't want me to buy it , tied
it to a day and boooked it off short notice and got over there
If you really want the item and this is the only thing holding you back...
any of us close enough to do the pickup? (assuming your happy to PayPal the bloke in advance)
If its towards this way...Gosport/Fareham/Pompey I'd gladly do the doo (assuming it will fit in my car!)
I could tie in a trip to Selsey on Monday if its out that way
You could then pickup at your leisure

Whether the ebay website supports the email transfers is immaterial, my point is some people on ebay are happy to sell/list items.
And often dont reply to emails.
The process of buying and selling requires communication, often forgotten on ebay.
I have fielded some ridiculous emails, but they all get an answer.
If the seller is scant with responding, then why would you give him your money.
I refer to my earlier post, if your not happy walk....

you will get a none payment item strike. get 2 of them in a 6 months and you will be blocked from a load of auctions.
No biggy if you dont make a habit of it.
And dont be offended, if they file a non payment strike, theycan dodge the final item fee (not listing fee though), or they get charged the listing
fee and the final item fee, but get nothing for it as you have let them down.

If you want it contact him again and tell him Monday night is no good for you. If you have changed your mind then tell him to relist it and he can
give you none performing buyer strike if he wants.

Might be a good idea to tell him the days you can pick it up and let him choose when he's available too. If you can't pick it up when he
can let you have it that's no-one's fault and neither of you should be penalised for it
