just been to Emerald to have my ECU mapped 173bhp

finally been and had the Emerald ECU setup on RR, great service and a smooth 173BHP, im happy with that and the power spread. From graph still going up and making power when hit 7000rmp which i said was my safe limit! leaves me scope for pub talk i can always say would have continued to go up to 200 at 8000rpm

2litre silvertop, GSXR750 ITB's and Newman 270 cams

173bhp is a healthy figure. Any idea how much the cams gain you?

Did they comment at all on the AFR?

I would have plotted it on a 11-17 scale and on that scale it would be very lumpy. I guess if that is what the engine wants for maximum power at the different rev points then it must be right.

I'm keen to learn from the pros as I only have a wideband sensor and no rolling road.

Matt

its what gave the power and to be honest AFR at each mapping point was fairly steady at 13.4, however there was a bit of an issue with the cheap ebay fuel pressure reg I have which had problems with holding a steady/consistant 3 bar pressure. Dave Walker did say cheap ones can be iffy

hard to tell cams alone, 270 cams, DIY ported head and ECU gained about 25bhp and higher rev's.

brother in laws 2 litre zetec with Emerald and Griffin type inlet made around 155 then with cams did 165.

Now has 199 after changing the cams fitting bike carbs as TB's and a bit of head work.

Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

Nice figures. For reference my Blacktop with large valve head, port and polished, cams & Jenveys made 165 BHP & 146ft lb at the wheels (equates to 207BHP & 183ft lb if you use 20% lossess). Mine redlines at 7700rpm with arp bolts.
