Problems with Tintop (elec window and Thermostat)
Hi All,
My Wife's car driver side elec window isn't going up or down...
Is it likely to be the "Regulator" and if so is it an easy fix/repair? (Rover 220 SDi S Reg)
On the same vain, it doesn't get warm. I thought I'd sorted it as the Heater Slide mechanism against the rear bulkhead was seized, but
that's now free and still doesn't warm up (well it does a little on longer trips)
I think the 'stat is a Self-Housed one rather than looking like a normal Stat, so should hopefully not be too bad a job in my opinion, but does
anyone have any experience with these?
I hate working on cars
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Window will be either... failed motor, failed switch (often goes one way but not the other), broken wire (usually where it goes into the door) or
siezed mechanism (rare).
Pull the panel off for starters and check the feed with a test light and then test the motor by putting a feed to it.
Can't be sure of the stat from memory but think it is in the bottom hose. Does the rad get fairly evenly warm soon after starting? If so
it'll probably be stat'. With a good stat it'd get hot at the top hose but cold at the bottom untill engine temp came up then fairly
suddenly warm the rad.
