Gulf Competition Oil
Opie have what seems a good deal on Gulf competition oil.
Gulf Oil
I currently have Motul 300v 10w40 fully synthetic race oil in my 1600 K Series Caterham Roadsport A. Any reason why I shouldnt switch to the Gulf
seeing as at the current price it is a shed load cheaper than the £30 per 2 litres that the Motul is?
Thanks,
Oli

Ester based synthetics all give much the same degree of protection most of the protection and viscosity stability comes more from the feed stock
rather than any additives . Valvoline do a good 5w/50 racing oil, Mobile 1 is available in a wide selection of viscosity.
Personally I don't see much differences in performance between ester based synthetic oils and the cheaper synthetic oils based on cracked
mineral oil based synthetic oils and have become a big fan of Texaco Havoline synthetic oils. For normal tintop use I use Havoline 5w/30 Longlife
Ultra G in K series engines. Texaco do 5w/40 and 10w/40 full synthetics.
